Theatre of Arts is licensed to operate in the state of California by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education pursuant to California Education Code Section 94915.

Public Notice: Pursuant to Article I, Section 3C of the NAST Membership Bylaws, effective April 23, 2021, Theatre of Arts has been placed on probationary status due to failure to document that it is in compliance with NAST's standards requiring that all member institutions a) possess sufficient financial resources to support institutional operations and b) operate under the guidance of a specific institutional Board of Directors. TOA is firmly committed to ensuring its compliance with all NAST standards, and is actively preparing a probationary response to provide NAST including all requested fiscal, budgetary and oversight documentation. Per NAST regulations, Theatre of Arts retains full NAST accreditation during this probationary period, which shall extend no fewer than three months and no more than two years.
