Course Description

MONDAY - FRIDAY, 12:00 - 2:00pm PT In this five-day, 10-hour intensive workshop, actors take a crash course on the business side of the profession — from how to prepare industry-standard resumes and professional headshots, to how to find out about upcoming casting calls and obtaining the various union memberships. Students will also learn which equipment is an essential investment for any home audition studio and touch upon social media. Agent/manager relationships are also reviewed to prepare the student for a proactive and fulfilling career. Requirements: Laptop Computer w. Webcam INSTRUCTOR: Claire Jacobs Claire Jacobs has taught, directed, and choreographed at educational institutions on both sides of the Atlantic for over 25 years, including the Guildford School of Acting Conservatoire (University of Surrey), The Academy (London) and Drama UK. Claire is a voting member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Her TV credits include AMERICAN CRIME STORY - VERSACE, REVENGE, FLASHFORWARD, MAD MEN, ER and RAISING HOPE, and theatre credits include I’M NOT RAPPAPORT, at the Apollo Theatre, in London’s West End.
