Course Description

MONDAY - FRIDAY, 9:00 - 11:00am PT In this five-day, 10-hour intensive workshop, we examine how the always-evolving casting industry has undergone an accelerated shakeup in 2020. COVID-19 has forever changed auditioning as selftapes and live teleconferencing sessions have become the norm. With the industry returning to work, don’t get caught behind the times! Learn audition techniques to master today’s entertainment landscape, by creating your very best selftape and correctly preparing yourself for that all-important LIVE online casting call. The class is designed for any actor currently auditioning and for those just starting out in the professional industry. Areas of study will include script analysis, the selftape, cold reads and monologues. Requirements: Laptop Computer w. Webcam Ring Light(s) INSTRUCTOR: Kevin Stidham UK native Kevin Stidham has appeared in many award-winning stage and screen productions, including Hampton Roads Shakespeare Festival, FringeNYC, THE KOMINSKY METHOD (Netflix), RAVEN’S HOME (Disney), BONES (Fox), and National Geographic’s IMAX feature SEA MONSTERS: A PREHISTORIC ADVENTURE. His voiceover credits include his ongoing work with the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society’s DARK ADVENTURE RADIO THEATRE. He earned his MFA in Acting from Regent University, his BS. Ed. in Theatre and Speech from Southwest Baptist University, and is a proud member of both SAG-AFTRA and Actors Equity.
