On Camera Acting: June 2022

2-day, 6-hour intensive on camera acting crash course.

Course Description

When: Two Sessions on Consecutive Fridays (Fri. June 10th & Fri. June 17th), 11:00am - 2:00pm PT (6 hours total) Where: Theatre of Arts, Villa Studio, 6472 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood CA How Much: $499 In this two-day, six-hour intensive workshop, students are introduced to the basic technical requirements of acting on camera, with the primary objective being to understand the processes and expectations of working on a professional film/TV set. WEEK 1 • Scene work and script analysis. Actors will be provided scenes/sides a few days before the start date of the Intensive. Actors will be expected to come to week 1 with scenes/sides prepared to the best of their ability. • Shot List and On-Camera work discussion and overview. • On-Camera scene work. All actors will perform the scenes on-camera, directed and assisted by the instructor. WEEK 2 • Screening and review of the scenes shot Week1. Feedback and adjustments given by the instructor. • On-set behavior and terminology discussion. • On-Camera Working Actor. Q&A and discussion with the instructor on individual goals to begin a career in Film, Television, and New Media in Los Angeles. Requirements: Students should be come to class camera ready, wearing comfortable, movement-friendly clothing and footwear with NO VISIBLE LOGOS or artwork, and bring a journal for notes. INSTRUCTOR: Alex Feldman (alexfeldman.info) Alex Feldman was born in Kiev, Ukraine and grew up in New York. He is a graduate of The New York Conservatory For The Dramatic Arts. Alex also studied with the great Anthony Abeson in NY for several years before moving to Los Angeles. As an actor, Feldman has been a presence in Film, Theater and TV for over a decade. He has made Guest-Star appearances on such hit shows as LAW & ORDER, COLD CASE, WITHOUT A TRACE, LAW & ORDER: SVU, LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT, CSI: MIAMI, and IN PLAIN SIGHT. Film credits include CHERNOBYL DIARIES (prod. Oren Peli), REPO CHICK (Dir. Alex Cox), and THE BLING RING (Dir. Michael Lebmeck). In 2006 Feldman began his writing/ directing career with SENT, a film based on the music of Tom Waits. Since then he has directed numerous short films as well as the hit web-series Floored and Lifted. Feldman is currently writing and directing a new science fiction series ETERNITY HILL, in which he also stars.
