CARES Act Emergency Financial Aid Grants


In May of 2020, Theatre of Arts received funds under Section 18004(a)(1) of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.


As of December 2020, amounts awarded through the CARES ACT are as follows:

  • Total Students - 38

  • Total Students Awarded - 16

  • Total Amount Awarded - $35,800.00

  • Total Students Accepted - 16

  • Total Amount Accepted - $35,8000.00

  • Number Paid - 16

  • Amount Paid (Average) – $1,800.00 per student

Student Eligibility


To be eligible for the CARES Act Funds, students must meet the following requirements:


1. Be enrolled in the May 2020 term

2. Eligible for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

a. U.S. Citizen or eligible noncitizen

b. Have a valid Social Security number

3. Method of calculation for disbursements of funds

a. The initial disbursements on 05.22.2020, each eligible student will receive $1000.00.

b. The remaining funds and disbursement to students will be calculated based on students EFC eligibility from the FAFSA. This will be broken into 4 EFC categories: EFC: C1: 0-1400, C2: 1401-2800, C3: 2801-4200, C4: 4201-9999
