MUSICAL

THEATRE

INTENSIVE

Theatre Of Arts is the longest running acting

conservatory in Hollywood. As a trailer to our upcoming Musical Theatre Program launching in Fall 2020, we’ve decided to host a musical theatre intensive featuring instructors from some of the most prolific platforms on Broadway to the sets and sound stages of Los Angeles.

We cordially invite you to audition for this week masterclass starting February 17th.

SCRIPT ANALYSIS

Students will explore a prolific work of musical theatre text and assess circumstance, objective, points of view, story, slogan and spine. They will learn critical tools in breaking down a script and how to create compelling characters using clues from the author and dialogue.

CHOREOGRAPHY + ROUTINE

Students will gain knowledge of basic techniques in Jazz, Tap, and Modern. These styles will be infused into a full musical presentation, which will be performed at the end of the intensive for invited guests.

ACTING: SCRIPT TO SONG

Students will apply script analysis techniques to selected scenes from notable Broadway musicals. They will learn to motivate the moment, and propel audiences seamlessly into song.

ENSEMBLE SINGING

Students will learn how to sing in an ensemble. They will break apart both traditional and contemporary musical theatre arrangements to be

performed at the end of the intensive.

PRIVATE VOCAL COACHING | BOOK BUILDING

Students will be given individual private coaching with industry professionals, where songs will be selected specifically for them to use for future auditions and concert opportunities.
