Sarah Spillane

Sarah Spillane is a multi-award winningwriter and director.Spillane grew up in Sydney, Australia, before relocating to Los Angelesin 2009. Spillane’s debut feature film, Around the Block, starring Christina Ricci, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Spillane won several awards for Around the Block including an Australian Directors Guild award, andOutstanding Achievement in Direction in 2014.Spillane started her career in television at the BBC in London,working on documentary, true crime, and dramatic reconstruction shows.Spillane has written and directed several projects for Australia’sNational Indigenous Television network and has directed multiplecommercials and branded content in Australia and the United States.Spillane has written and is attached to direct a number of screenplays and teleplays currently in development including True Spirit, for Paramount Pictures Australia,Abe, starring Finn Wittrock andJuno Temple; and femme film noir thriller NOLA. Spillanealso created the original one-hour television drama series Rebel,which was adapted into agraphic novel and comic book series, now in it’s fourth edition.
