Summer Intensive Program

Throughout this two week film intensive, students will learn the process of film making from the ground up, and the role the actor plays in that process. The students will master the techniques of acting for the camera and deepen their understanding of themselves as artists through the viewing of video playback of their work. Each student will go through a casting process placing them in a short film which will be fully produced throughout this intensive. In addition to the films in which the actors are featured they will also help crew the other films.
Goals:
- Master on camera acting techniques
- Learn the process of filmmaking from the ground up
- Find new levels of truthful acting
- Complete production on a short film for festival distribution
- Requirements:
- A memorized one minute monologue that is contemporary and age appropriate.
- A desire to learn!
Schedule:
Day One – Six: Introductions. Film making process, learning our way around the set and how each job interacts with the actor. On set expectations. Camera acting exercises. On camera acting technique. On camera audition process and technique. **Audition Notice and Sides!!!** Pre production, table reads, Crew assigments. Rehearsal. Pre-production.
Days Six – Twelve: IN PRODUCTION. SHOOT DAYS. WRAP PARTY!.
Summer Intensive applicants need not audition. Your application is not complete without a $175 deposit that is charged in order to hold your slot. It will be deducted from your total tuition. The total charge for our 2013 Summer Film Intensive is $975.
