Theatre of Arts is an Associate Member Institution of the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST) and is licensed to operate in the State of California by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. NAST is an organization that was founded in 1965, includes approximately 188 accredited institutional members, and is comprised of schools, conservatories, colleges and universities. NAST establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees along with other credentials. Due to their stringent criteria, the peer review process of accreditation is the only way Institutional Membership can be gained.

The handbook includes current NAST standards and guidelines for accredited institutional membership for degree and non-degree granting institutions in theatre. Additionally, it also contains the Association’s Constitution, Bylaws, Code of Ethics, and Rules of Practice and Procedure. Also incorporated are all recent revisions ratified by the NAST Membership, Board of Directors, and/or Commission on Accreditation through April 2017. Furthermore, All institutions and evaluators must follow standards and guidelines reflected in the latest edition of the NAST Handbook and any addenda current at the time of application.
Theatre of Arts is approved to operate in the state of California by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education pursuant to California Education Code Section 94915. In addition, federal law has given us authorization to enroll non-immigrant alien students who meet eligibility requirements.

Theatre of Arts is located at 1536 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90028, and has been granted institutional approval to operate from the State of California Bureau for Private Post-secondary Education (BPPE) pursuant to California Educational Code Section 94915. The Bureau’s approval means compliance with minimum state standards, and does not imply endorsement or recommendation by the state or Bureau. Institutional approval is subject to continual review.
